Work Description

Kadan’s Architecton Lysa Hora gestures towards the recovery of heritage obscured by power, but it also shows that such restoration is insufficient: here, we find a ruin in the shadow of suprematist hubris, the home of a Roma family destroyed in an ultranationalist pogrom in Ukraine’s capital in 2018. The avant-garde is recalled, but its premises are challenged, and its ultimate irony, as an artistic paradigm that signified universal hope and progress but sank into terror and violent regression, is revealed.
