Tetyana Chystova and Marat Gelman on the Early Paintings of Pavlo Kerestey

Publications

Pavlo Kerestey’s position is undoubtedly different [compared to Viktor Kazarin]. Without completely rejecting either the narrative beginning or conscious aestheticization, the artist insists on the uniqueness of his own vision, using meditation as a creative method. Thus, the artist-medium realizes the communicative role of plasticity, and form acts not simply as a means and goal of transforming the rich visual imagination of the artist into freely emotional images of his paintings. The impulsive nature of the painting and the scale of the canvases are adequate to the special energy in depicting reality, formulated in a language dictated to Pavlo Kerestey by his artistic experience.Тип коментаря: Published comment
