Art Association “Dzyga” – an organization of artists, public figures, entrepreneurs in the form of an association of various cultural and creative projects and objects (clubs, festivals, media projects, etc.). Founded in 1993 as a result of the unification of the environment of public figures of the Student Movement during Ukraine’s independence acquisition period (“Student Brotherhood” 1989 – 1993), the avant-garde art environment (“Shlyakh” 1989 – 1992) and musicians of the then Lviv underground (“Tea Lovers Club”, “Dead Rooster”, underground festival “VyVykh”).

Among the association’s assets, the most uncompromising and accordingly the most productive projects are: the underground festival “VyVykh”, the festivals “Freedom of Choice”, “UMH – 93”, “Jazz Bez”, “Flugery Lviv”, “Metro Jazz”, “Pink Slow”, “Project Ye”, “New Noah’s Ark”, the club “Lyalka”, “Listen Ukrainian”, the founding and producing of the alternative radio station “Radio Iniciatyva 102.5 FM”, the opposition newspaper “Lviv Newspaper”, the literary magazine “Chetver”, the Week of Contemporary Art “7”, Performance Days in Lviv, the international project “L²” (Lviv – Lublin) and many other smaller scale projects.

Summarizing the quantitative results on its 15th anniversary in 2008, “Dzyga” received the following statistical figures: 394 exhibitions, 1223 club concerts, 119 exclusive concert projects, 26 festivals, 117 performances, 360 literary presentations and many other extraordinary attractions, which gathered more than 1.5 million participants, visitors, and spectators.
