Started taking lessons from the artist Oleg Sokolov

Started studying at the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Odessa Pedagogical Institute. A period of formal artistic exploration.

1983

Graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Odessa Pedagogical Institute named after K.D. Ushinsky (specialty teacher — V. Gegamyan)

Military service

1985

The first solo exhibition of Roitburd, which took place in Margarita Zharkova's apartment, became the last apartment exhibition in Odessa

1986

Marriage. Starting work in your own workshop.

1987

The first uncensored youth exhibition at the Union of Artists of Ukraine. An introduction to Silvashi, Solovyov, Savadov, Hnylytskyi and others.

1988

The first plein air in Sedniv. Participation in the All-Union Youth Exhibition in Moscow.

1989

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

1989

Acted as the organizer of the creative group together with Vasyl Ryabchenko, Serhiy Lykov, and Olena Nekrasova.

1989

The birth of Betty Roitburd's daughter.

1990

Opening of the Marat Gelman Gallery in Moscow — the first solo exhibition of Roitburd.

 

Awarded a diploma from the USSR Academy of Arts in the category "Best Painting of the Year" for the paintings "Seated Prophet" and "Movement Towards the Sea".

1991

Exhibition «New Figurations» co-curated with Mykhailo Rashkovetsky at the Literary Museum, Odessa.

 

Exhibition «Classics and Contemporaries», Moscow.

1992

Residence of Ukrainian artists in Munich, exhibition «Postanesthesia» at the Shtuk villa.

1993

Founder of the "New Art" association.

Exhibition "Steppes of Europe" at the Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw.

Exhibition "Portrait. Ladies. In White" at the "1.0" galleries, Marat Gelman Gallery, "School" gallery of the Contemporary Art Center in Moscow.
