Externally, it resembled a real art party — a phenomenon quite common in capital and large cities, but rather rare in Kherson. People came, looked, socialized, congratulated the celebrant — Stanislav Volyazlovsky. His exhibition was held at the SS/02 gallery (“Union of Heirs-2002”). The works of the Kherson ceramist and artist covered a long creative period: from 10 to 32 years old. Childhood works bordered on “freshness,” so there was a real opportunity to compare the author’s creative evolution. Cats and parrots from the age of 14, and something completely folk and ethnic stood next to penis art. To the surprise of many, the exhibition was not dedicated to penis art (there are only two official representatives of this type of art in Ukraine, and Volyazlovsky is among them). The project title was “Waiting for the Snowman.” And, as the author claims, although the snowman himself is not here, the traces are — and very clear ones.
A grandfather of about seventy who accidentally came to the exhibition treated contemporary art with understanding, looked closely, was interested… He stayed for a whole 15 minutes.Link
