The anthology Reсlaiming history. Decoloniality and Art in Ukraine after 1991
Description
The anthology is the result of two years of work by the Research Platform of the PinchukArtCentre.
The Research Platform focused on exploring the discourse of decoloniality and its application to cultural processes and artistic practices in Ukraine. Through collective reading and discussion of foundational texts on coloniality and decoloniality, the researchers critically examined dominant Western narratives around Soviet and post-Soviet art, as well as the practices of Ukrainian artists working with memory, history, subjectivity, and the rethinking of identities.
The anthology features texts by the editor/compiler of anthology and affiliated curator of the Research Platform Kateryna Botanova, researchers Yevheniia Butsykina and Milena Khomchenko, and scholars Svitlana Biedarieva, Adrian Ivakhiv, and Madina Tlostanova.
